Search for drowned teenager continues – Sheffield

The teen had been swimming at an unprotected beach when he got into trouble.

 

Emergency services are searching for the body of a 13-year-old boy who was washed out to sea at Sheffield yesterday afternoon.

The teenager had been swimming in a non-bathing area.

KwaDukuza lifeguard supervisor Bongani Xulu said a passerby called emergency services after he noticed the teenager struggling in the water.

“The same person tried to rescue the boy but was unsuccessful.”

“The search was called off yesterday but we are hoping to make the most of today’s good weather in the search operation.”
