UPDATE: Rock throwing – Minors taken for questioning
Six minors were found at the vicinity of the bridge today and taken in for questioning. They were not arrested.

Tongaat SAPS has taken six children in for questioning regarding the tragic rock throwing incident that claimed the lives of two young siblings last month.
Sixteen year old Amina Haffejee, her brother Abdur Raheem and Amina’s husband were traveling on the N2 between Ballito and Tongaat when a boulder that was thrown at their car, broke through the windscreen and hit the siblings.
They were rushed to Alberlito Hospital where they were both pronounced dead.

Tongaat SAPS spokesperson Patrick Ngwane said the six minors were found at the vicinity of the bridge yesterday (Monday) and taken in for questioning. They were not arrested.
“Police suspected the children may have been involved or that they have information. The matter is still under investigation.”
