UPDATE: Miracle for Shaka’s Head protest victim
An interfaith prayer for Sashni will be held at the Stanger Siva Sangum hall tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm.

Stanger resident, Sashni Daniel (27) is off life support and on the road to recovery.
This is according to her father Kovi, who thanked the public for their support and prayer.
“I went to the hospital today and the doctors said Sashni had been taken off life support and was breathing on her own. When I think back to her condition just days ago, this is truly a miracle.”
Sashni was hit by a brick while traveling on the R102 on February 25, during a service delivery protest in Shaka’s Head.
She was rushed to Stanger hospital and later transferred to Albert Luthuli hospital with severe head injuries.
She had a fractured skull, three blood clots and swelling in the brain.

The jewellery consultant underwent a four hour emergency surgery last Friday to elevate pressure from the brain.
Doctors told the family on Monday that Sashni was in a critical state and all that was left to do was to pray.
Many people took to Facebook sharing prayers for Sashni’s recovery.
Kovi said the road to recovery would be a long one as there was still swelling on Sashni’s brain.
An interfaith prayer for Sashni will be held at the Stanger Siva Sangum hall tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm.
