A legacy of generosity

The Ballito based R&C Instrumentation made a generous donation of R30 000 to the Orphan Fund last week.

Generosity from businesses and individuals allow the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund to continue to thrive and support hundreds of vulnerable children on the Dolphin Coast.

Opening their hearts once again, the Ballito based R&C Instrumentation made a generous donation of R30 000 to the Orphan Fund last week.

Being in the area for over 30 years, owners Steve and Sylvia Edwards have religiously supported the Fund.

The donation of the cheque was a bittersweet moment for Steve Edward as he said it was the last time he would do the physical handover to the Orphan Fund, as he recently retired.

He, however, pledged that the company will continue its support for the NGO.

“We donated to the Orphan Fund annually for the past four or five years. Rose Stephenson started the fund with the purest intentions and that inspired us.

“Her heart is in the right place and that is very hard to find in this day and age. This is why we continue to support it.”

Steve plans to spend the rest of his golden years building and repairing motorbikes and touring Europe with his wife Sylvia.

The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund assists orphans and vulnerable children in the newspaper’s circulation area.

Fundraising coordinator June Mdolo said she was sincerely grateful for R&C Instrumental’s contribution.

“We are humbled by the amazing and ongoing generosity of management and staff of R&C Instrumentation. It is inspiring and encouraging to know that such kindness still exists. May we be challenged to emulate them.”
