It’s the perfect spot to find the exact thing that you were looking for, but never thought you would find.

Here are five crazy things you can buy from the Dog Box:

1. Fancy paddling?

If you’re planning on cancelling your weekend paddling plans because your oar decided to grow legs, don’t panic! You can find one at the Dog Box.

From fishing nets to ponies with character, you can find just about anything.

2. Are you a Wilbur Smith fan?

The Dog Box is famous for their book shop. Stocked to the ceiling with hundreds of crime, romance, fiction and non-fiction books, the little book shop is every avid reader’s paradise.

One of the hidden gems is their Wilbur Smith collection.

The famous South African novelist specialises in historical fiction about the international involvement in SA across four centuries.

His books are a must read and are available at ridiculously low brilliant prices.

Don’t forget to pop into the book shop, there are thousands of books to choose from!

3. Seamstress in the making?

If sewing is your new favourite hobby, then head down to the Dog Box where you will find an abundance of sewing patterns.

The collection boasts patterns for both men’s and women’s clothing.

Old fashion patterns are making a comeback!

4. Old school music

If you’re looking to add to your vintage record collection, you may find a few gems at the Dog Box.

Old school is always better. Browse through their record collection near the clothing section.

5. Gift bag mania

Finding the perfect gift is hard enough and having to pop it in a fancy gift bag can just about break the bank.

The SPCA charity shop has a number of gift bags in great condition, perfect for birthdays, festive season celebrations, and more.

Gift bag anyone?

6. Golf pro dreams

Whether you’re a beginner looking to test the golfing waters, or one of your golf clubs also happened to grow legs, the Dog Box may be able to help you.

You may just stumble across a hidden gem.

7. Ready to take the bike for a spin?

What fun is riding a bike without a helmet?

Although they may not be in mint condition, helmets are for your benefit and safety and will always come in handy!

Pop into the shop and take a look at what they have in stock.

Safety first!

The shop is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 12.30pm.

The staff are all unpaid volunteers and the profits are used by the Dolphin Coast SPCA in the care of lost, injured, abused, unwanted and abandoned animals.

With so many customers visiting the store each week, it is imperative to keep the steady stream of donations flowing. This can only be done with the help of the community.

Volunteer Maggie Anderson is appealing to the public to reach into their hearts and dig deep in their cupboards to restock the shelves.
