Couple burnt alive in their home – Zamani Township
The man's brother rushed into the still burning home looking for any possible survivors.
Two people were burnt to death this morning following an explosion at their home in Zamani Township near Darnall.
It is believed that a petrol container exploded in the home.
Sandile Nsele was the first one to enter the burning house in an attempt to rescue his brother, Thulani Makhathini, and his partner Thobeka Tshangase.
However, it was too late for the unlucky couple.

“He brought his television, speaker and amplifier to my home this morning and promised to come back.
“The next thing I heard someone shouting, saying that his house was on fire.
“When I got there, people were trying to gain access to the house.
When I got inside I realised it was too late, the fire had already destroyed everything,” said Nsele.
It is currently unclear whether the tragic incident was the result of an accident or deliberate action.
KwaDukuza police spokesperson, constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo said police are looking into both possibilities.
“A petrol container was found at the scene but we cannot guarantee that the fire was caused by the petrol container.
“We will wait to conclude our investigation before we can say more,” said Khuzwayo.
The couple had been staying together for almost three years, and leave behind their three children who are between the ages of 7 and 10 years old.
They were at school when the tragedy took place.
