Meet Sundumbili’s Mrs Congeniality

Being a domestic abuse victim herself, Zama Ntshalitshali said she wants women to know they can walk away from abusive relationships.

Besides being a hardcore police officer, model and motivational speaker, constable Zama Ntshalintshali from Sundumbili Police Station is determined to fight and raise awareness about domestic abuse.

Being a domestic abuse victim herself, Ntshalitshali said she wants women to know they can walk away from abusive relationships.

“I had been married for nine years and it was a vacation in hell for me.

“Being a mother of three girls it was not easy to leave the relationship, but it was the best thing for me and for them.”

She believes her escape from abuse was an opportunity to save other women from the same fate.

“Women must not tolerate abuse from anyone, especially from the men who claim to love them. Staying in an abusive relationship could also negatively affect your children. They might grow up knowing that the only way to resolve issues is voilence which is untrue.”

The 2018 Mrs Zululand finalist said she began modelling at the age of five and she believes she has a bright future ahead of her.

She was in the top 12 at the Mrs South Africa beauty pageant in 2014 and got into the top five at the Mrs SA National pageant.

“I have a very busy life and fortunately I have strong support from my family and that is the only reason I manage to do so much. My parents are always there to offer help and support in everything I do,” said Ntshalitshali.

The multi-talented Constable said she would like to be a globally recognised motivational speaker and since she studied theology, she hopes to also persue a career as a pastor.
