North Coast roads affected by #FuelPriceStrike
The R102 near Buffelsdale, Tongaat and the M4 were also affected this morning.
It has been a protest-fuelled start to Mandela Day after major roads throughout KZN were blocked by activists in support of the #FuelPriceStrike this morning.
Bringing traffic to a standstill, the Fuel Prices Must Fall civil action group said they were demanding the decrease in the fuel price from R16,02 to R10.

Protest action also affected the North Coast, with the N2 north and southbound lanes near Princes Grant both being blocked.
The R102 near Buffelsdale, Tongaat and the M4 were also affected this morning.
Apparently the N2 has since been reopened but the R102 remains closed at New Guelderland.

Pietermaritzburg’s Paul Jenkins, who has steered #fuelpricesmustfall campaign, handed over a memorandum to the premier’s office last week.
The memorandum is to be handed to the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa.
The movement is based in every city and has picked up thousands of social media followers and it is still growing.
