Making Ballito and Salt Rock a safer place
Money raised at this event will be used to buy and install four Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras (ANPR) which will be placed at strategic surveillance points in these areas.
Get ready for an evening of live entertainment and good food while helping to raise funds to make Ballito and Salt Rock a safer place at Mamma G’s, Ballito Junction on Saturday, July 28.
Heading up the fundraiser is the RE/MAX Dolphin’s charity committee who have been hard at work to raise R200,000 for the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch (BNW) and Salt Rock Neighbourhood Watch (SRNW).
The money will be used to buy and install four Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras (ANPR) which will be placed at strategic surveillance points in these areas that are currently not monitored.
The cameras are linked to a national database of suspicious or wanted vehicles.

The moment a vehicle enters the view of the camera, it searches the database records and immediately red flags whether the vehicle is wanted or suspicious.
The security companies monitoring these cameras will then dispatch their vehicles to stop and search the vehicle in question.
Broker owner of RE/MAX Dolphin Simon Peacock said they started the fundraiser to help keep the area a sought-after destination.
“Our goal is to help the BNW and SRNW in their endeavours to keep crime at bay so that our area will continue to remain the sought after destination of choice for holiday makers, permanent residence and a place of employment for so many,” said Peacock.
Heading up the charity committee are RE/MAX Dolphin’s Terence and Charlene McMurray who said they feel confident that they will reach their target.
“It has been great to see estate agencies in the town donating and everyone pulling together to help make Ballito and Salt Rock a safer place. We have already raised about 80 percent of the target and any funds raised above the R200,000 will be given to the neighbourhood watches for other important work,” said Charlene.
The event will see the talented Winston Smile perform while you feast on a three-course meal. The evening starts at 6.30pm and tickets cost R250.
