Teeing off for charity at Prince’s Grant

In the spirit of Ubuntu the ladies arrived to have fun and also to support the chosen charities on the day.

Golfers from across the country opened their hearts and wallets at the annual Prince’s Grant Ladies Golf Section charity golf day.

Hosted in July, the event saw 90 participants from various provinces and towns around SA, as well as many local golfers, take to the greens.

In the spirit of Ubuntu the ladies arrived to have fun and also to support the chosen charities on the day.

The current Lady Captain of Prince’s Grant, Cheryl Hennessy, was responsible for choosing the charities for this year.

Being mindful of the responsibility of ensuring that the donations reach the desired target, Cheryl decided to choose two non-profit organisations that are officially registered with SARS.

A second factor was to find charities where the funds are wholly donated to the charity concerned.

This made the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund an appealing choice. A total of R12 500 was handed over to Orphan Fund Coordinator June Mdolo on Monday.

The other beneficiary was C.R.O.W (Center for Rehabilitation of Wildlife).

“The Prince’s Grant lady golfers wish to thank all who participated in donations and in kind, for their generous contributions,” said Hennessy.
