Shoreline patrols and drone aerial searches were conducted throughout the week, with no results.

Three days after a 16-year-old boy was swept out to sea at Blythedale beach, his lifeless body was recovered kilometres away.

IPSS medical rescue together with KwaDukuza lifeguards and police search and rescue were notified by lifeguards on Zinkwazi beach, of a body that had been washed up approximately 2kms north of Zinkwazi.

The young boy from Gledhow was reportedly at the beach with his two friends when he got into difficulty and was swept away from the shore at around 5pm on Monday.
