DOCRRA looking to move forward

"We are here to be the voice of all residents and ratepayers on the Dolphin Coast."

The Dolphin Coast Resident’s and Ratepayer’s Association (DOCRRA) is looking to catch a second wind after securing corporate membership from both Simbithi Eco Estate and Brettenwood Estate.

After struggling to remain relevant for a long time, the organisation is trying to breathe new life into its brand and strategy.

“With the influx of estates cropping up in our areas, it is critical that an organisation such as DOCRRA bridge the municipal gap,” stated chairman Ken Lever.

“Supporting our community is our motto – we are here to be the voice of all residents and ratepayers on the Dolphin Coast.”

Since the last agm, the new committee has been running with a roadshow of presentations to the larger estates and residential complexes.

The purpose of the roadshow is to share information on the organisation and the issues it has identified.

The quality of service delivery remains central to their concerns and future projects include roads and traffic, town planning and building regulations, and air quality.

The committee consists of eight volunteers who are not paid for their time and efforts. DOCRRA is keen to represent all sectors of the community and there are two further places open on the committee.

DOCRRA encourages interested and committed citizens from all ethnic groups to volunteer their services to broaden the reach and responsibility of the organisation.

If you would like to host a roadshow or share your ideas with DOCRRA, you can reach them on admin@docrra.co.za or visit their new website – www.docrra.co.za
