Santa’s elves in blue spread Christmas cheer on the North Coast

Captain Vinny Pillay and the team thanked the community for their generosity.

Every year Santa’s helpers visit underprivileged areas in the North Coast, making sure that all children get a taste of Christmas.

Fifteen volunteers together with six members of Umhlali SAPS visited Etete, Shayamoya, and Shakaskraal children last week, bearing hundreds of gifts.

Many children came from child-headed households or underprivileged homes where food alone is a precious commodity.

Children from Etete were excited to receive Christmas gifts.

Umhlali SAPS spokesperson captain Vinny Pillay and the team thanked the community for their generosity.

“We had a container full of gifts which ranged from toys to wheelchairs and furniture. We do this as a way of bringing people together for Christmas and to remember those who through their circumstances, do not really celebrate Christmas.

“It is a time for giving and the joy on these kids’ faces is the only thank you we need.”
