Five guilt-free Christmas wrapping ideas

Keep up the good work of being eco-conscious with these nifty wrapping ideas that will not only be fun to do but most importantly be zero-waste and budget friendly.

1. Once you have read The North Coast Courier, give our paper a second life as gift wrapping. Choose a page with an interesting story or a beautiful photo and get wrapping. Add a sprig or two of rosemary, a cinnamon stick and pine cone and tie it all together with some red and white twine. Voila.
2. Get your scrap pieces of fabric out and use it to wrap up the presents. You can really get creative here by sewing some buttons and ribbons onto the fabric as extra decor.

   

3.  Add a retro touch to the present by wrapping it in a vintage scarf. Tie an elegant knot in the scarf or wrap it traditionally and add a pretty brooch to finish it off.
4.  Make the wrapping part of the gift by using a pretty dishcloth or cloth napkins as the paper. Add a big ribbon to it to keep it together and your look is complete.
5. Instead of spending a fortune on a Christmas card that will probably only be read once before going to the bin, rather print out a lovely photo and write on the back of it. Stick the photo on the gift wrapping which will double up as personalised decor.
