Cyclist killed in taxi crash at Umdloti

Three cyclists were injured in the accident.

One man was critically injured, and has since died in hospital, two others were badly injured when they were involved in an accident on the M4 south bound just before the M27 Umdloti offramp this morning.

The three cyclists were hit by a mini-bus taxi, said paramedics.

“Once stabilised the patients were transported to hospital by ambulance for further treatment. The critical patient was too severely injured to be saved and passed away in hospital,” said Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst.
