Electricity stays on, for now

There is no loadshedding planned for the weekend, but this could change.

This weekend looks to be a lit one as Eskom has stated that the probability of loadshedding is low for the next few days.
This does not mean you should blast all the aircons and fire up your tumble dryer, as Eskom warned that the power system remains “tight and vulnerable”.
“We continue to appeal to residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period.
“Please switch off geysers as well as all non-essential lighting and electricity appliances to assist in reducing demand.”
Eskom said load shedding could start at short notice should they have an unplanned technical breakdown or a major shift in plant performance.
