Two arrested for Stanger Secondary teacher’s murder

Siyabonga Shezi was found on the floor of his home with his hands and feet tied, his mouth was covered. He had been strangled.

Two people who were allegedly involved in the murder of Stanger Secondary School teacher, were denied bail by the KwaDukuza magistrates’ court last Wednesday.

The teacher, Siyabonga Shezi (26) was killed in Ntshawini last month. His belongings, including his bank cards, laptop and cellphone were taken.

Shezi was found on the floor of his home with his hands and feet tied, his mouth was covered. He had been strangled.

A 24-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were arrested by Kwadukuza SAPS detectives serious and violent crime unit on June 20, after a tip-off.

“The suspects had used the victim’s bank cards at various ATMs in the KwaDukuza area, withdrawing large amounts of cash from the victim’s bank account.

The victim’s body was only found on Friday, June 14 by members of the community,” said KwaDukuza acting station commander, colonel Nokulunga Novandla.
