Loaded bakkie rolls killing two – N2 Ballito
Traffic cops and road traffic were notably absent, said paramedics.
Two people died in an accident around midnight last night on the N2 northbound between Salt Rock and Chaka’s Rock off-ramps.
The driver of a bakkie carrying 14 occupants allegedly lost control of the vehicle and rolled multiple times from the northbound lane to the southbound lane, reported paramedics.
They reported two people deceased and 10 with injuries ranging from moderate to severe.

Dylan Meyrick of IPSS Medical Rescue said there were no traffic cops present at the accident and that this has been a recurring problem during after-hours accidents of late.
“It is a terrifying feeling standing on the freeway at a multi-patient accident with no blue lights,” said Meyrick.
