Car bursts into flames after rear-ending truck at Tongaat toll, two dead
When emergency services arrived bystanders were in the process of extinguishing the blaze.
A brave rescue attempt of two people trapped in a burning car ended in tragedy.
Bystanders at the Tongaat tollgate attempted to put out the blaze using fire extinguishers.
According to reports, the light motor vehicle had burst into flames after rear-ending a truck.

When emergency services arrived shortly after 11pm, bystanders were in the process of extinguishing the blaze.
“Unfortunately, the two occupants were unable to escape the flames and were pronounced dead on scene,” said IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Dylan Meyrick.
