Horrific accident claims two lives – Umdloti

Three vehicles collided on the M27, between Umdloti and Waterloo.

Two people died in a head-on collision involving a taxi, a light motor vehicle and a delivery truck on the M27, between Umdloti and Waterloo on Sunday morning.

Five people were thrown from the car and taxi, while multiple other passengers suffered light to moderate injuries, reported paramedics.

IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Paul Herbst said both the deceased were declared dead on scene by emergency services while the injured were treated and taken to various hospitals for further treatment.

The exact cause of the collision is still unclear at this stage, and remains subject to police investigation.
