Not only does the event promise to be loads of fun but loads of prizes are also up for grabs with the main prize for the largest bass – in length – being a fishing charter sponsored by Lynski Fishing Charters valued at R7 500.
Junior fishermen at the age of 13 and under may also look forward to some prizes as well as a selfie competition and lucky draw prizes.
The event, which is to be held in conjunction with the Whale and Dolphin Tours Durban and Lynski Fishing Charters will see proceeds go toward The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund. The Fund’s fundraising coordinator, Jane Armstrong, is excited about the event and wants to remind people about all of the great prizes up for grabs.
“Aside of the fishing charter prize sponsored by Lynski Fishing Charters valued at R7 500, juniors can look forward to winning a fishing rod and reel combo. Other prizes include a whale watching tour for 10 people, sponsored by Whale & Dolphin Tours Durban and, there’s also a Farmer Watercraft Kick Boat up for grabs,” said Jane.
Gates open at 5am and prize-giving is set to start at 11.30am. Early bird registration is priced at R150 per bank angler and R200 per watercraft angler. On the day registration will be R50 more per angler. The entry fee includes access to the dam and a watercraft licence for craft anglers.
