Morale boost for local cops

About 300 police officers from ten stations in the Ilembe cluster gathered at the Gledhow sports field for the police medal parade.

The thin blue line was marching to attention last Friday when long serving officers were honoured for putting their lives on the line serving and protecting.

According to Umhlali SAPS spokesperson, Captain Vinny Pillay, the parade is hosted every ten years.

“Members who have been working as police officers for 10, 20 and 30 years were given medals and this time, we also honoured members who worked during the 2010 World Cup with medals,” said Pillay.
