Creating a sleep inducing bedroom is as simple as this
If you want to create a sleep-promoting bedroom these are some of the tips you need to consider.
Let’s face it, it’s about so much more than simply finding the right bed, or angling the pillow just right.
You’ve got a problem, a sleep problem, and it’s causing you to lose your mind and maybe throw your toys out the cot.
Nobody likes an angry, sleep deprived human, nobody. So what do you do to make sure you get back into your normal sleeping routine?
After all, a good night’s sleep is on everyone’s wish list. Would it surprise you to learn that the environment in your bedroom plays a huge role in your sleeping pattern?
If you want to create a sleep-promoting bedroom these are some of the tips you need to consider.
Keep it cool and dark
This is as simple as it gets and although a few may think this to be counterproductive, the opposite is in fact true. Research has shown that rooms with a cooler temperature promote better levels of sleep. It is suggested that the perfect temperature is at 18ºC.
Pillow-talk
There is quite possibly nothing worse than an uncomfortable pillow, or even a mattress. It all comes down to which pillow aids the most in keeping your spine aligned while sleeping. If your spine is aligned – regardless of whether you sleep on your back, side or stomach – you will be off to la-la land soon enough.

Bedding can mean the difference between sweet dreams and night terrors. If you want the best sleep, research indicates that 100% cotton is the way to go if your body temperature tends to run high during sleep. Cotton bedding is breathable and soft, and will definitely aid you in getting a good night’s rest.
Bring the outdoors in
Sometimes all we need is a little bit of nature to lighten the mood. It has been proven that the use of plants indoors reduces stress, while promoting a greater sense of peace and well-being.
Clean up, aisle bedroom
And lastly, bringing us to what may very well be the problem behind why most people struggle to fall asleep: clutter. When last did you decide to clean up your bedroom, your mother had a point all those years ago after all. A clean environment has also been proven to reduce stress levels, promote a sense of well-being and in turn, promote sleep.
Try out these simple tricks and you’ll be sure to get the much-needed rest and relaxation you’ve been dying for.
