New water line for KwaDukuza to alleviate water interruptions
The line starts from the balancing reservoir at Mvoti all the way to the Kearsney, Stanger Manor, High Ridge, Warrenton and Shakaville reservoirs.
iLembe District Municipality announced today that a new water line is to be commissioned today, December 20.
The line starts from the balancing reservoir at Mvoti all the way to the Kearsney, Stanger Manor, High Ridge, Warrenton and Shakaville reservoirs.
“Tie-in points at High Ridge, Stanger Manor, Warrenton and Shakaville have been completed with High Ridge being completed just recently.
“The commitment and confirmation from contractors is that commissioning will happen this afternoon,” said Elias Bhengu, water services manager for the iLembe District Municipality.

The municipality also added that the 36 water tankers, including the 30 new additional units, will be available to serve the entire region.
A risk abatement plan has been put in place by the Council for the festive season, and the technical services department for iLembe has fitted all their technicans’ vehicles with extra supplies and equipment to keep them ready and mobilised should an emergency require.
