Your front seat taxi money guide for the Dolphin Coast

All Dolphin Coast Taxi Association conductors have been dismissed and this means you need to brush up on your math.

Allegedly blamed for the overloading that was present during the horrific taxi accident on the R102, near Shakaskraal, on January 3, all Dolphin Coast Taxi Association conductors have been dismissed.

The result?

Front seat mathematics is going to be an issue for any passenger who ends up in the dreaded hot seat next to the driver.

Although many drivers do it themselves, you might find yourself in a taxi where the driver will ask you to count the moola.

That means no daydreaming or gossiping, you need to pay attention or you may have to make up the difference from your own pocket.

If maths is not your strong point, we have put together a local price guide to help (keep this in your wallet for when lady luck lands you up front).

From Ballito to KwaDukuza town, the taxi ride costs R17, to Groutville and Ntshawini its R14, Etete is R13, Shakaskraal costs R12 and Shaka’s Head is R9.

So if you need to calculate for a fully loaded taxi (15 seats) from Ballito to KwaDukuza, the total amount should be R255, Groutville R210, Etete R195, Shakaskraal R150 and Shaka’s Head: R130.*Prices subject to change.
