Man set alight and murdered in Tongaat unrecognisable, says police

The badly burnt remains of an unidentified man were found at Tongaat.

Tongaat Saps have appealed for Tongaat residents help to identify a man believed to have been murdered.

According to provincial Saps spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, police received a complaint that a man had been murdered at Nyaninga in Tongaat on May 29.

The badly burnt remains of an unidentified man were discovered.

It is alleged that he had been assaulted before being burnt and dumped.

Police have been unable to identify the man and have asked that anyone missing a relative to contact Detective Sergeant Parasuramen at 082 856 7914 or 032 944 9900.
