Waste collection suspended temporarily in some KwaDukuza wards as Covid-19 spreads
All affected staff will be tested on Monday.

The temporary suspension of waste collection in parts of KwaDukuza municipality follows seven staff testing positive with coronavirus.
While municipal spokesperson Sipho Mkhize said the municipality has been diligent in following measures to limit the risk of Covid-19 transmissions, essential services have been impacted.
Refuse collection to the following areas have been affected:
Ward 18 – Shakaville
Ward 12 – Thembeni
Ward 02 – Zamani
Ward 02 – Soweto
Ward 01 – Doringkop
Ward 19 – KwaDukuza (Stanger CBD) (street sweeping also affected)
“KwaDukuza Municipality takes its function and responsibility for providing basic essential services to its residents seriously, we are adamant that we shall restore our services to normal and catch up on our scheduled as from July 7, provided the results are favourable,” said Mkhize.
