Eskom moves to stage 1 loadshedding
Stage 1 begins at 9am and continues until 10pm.
Loadshedding continues today for its 6th consecutive day, but will be at stage 1, says Eskom.
The power utility said they had successfully returned a generation unit each at the Medupi and Majuba power stations to service.
Unit 2 at Koeberg was synchronised into the grid on Monday, however Eskom still needs to restore a unit at both Tutuka and Kendal power stations.
Stage 1 begins at 9am and continues until 10pm.
“The colder weather also means demand for electricity has risen significantly.
“We therefore urge the public to continue assisting us in managing consumption in order to reduce the impact of the supply constraints.”
While Ballito will not have loadshedding today, the town is experiencing a power failure.
Electricians are attending to the problem.
