Loadshedding suspended for the weekend

Eskom continues to ask the public to use electricity sparingly.

After Eskom reduced loadshedding to Stage 1 from 5pm yesterday, loadshedding was suspended at 10pm.

Nationwide rolling blackouts began on Thursday after multiple breakdowns at power generation plants on Wednesday.

These were restored on Friday. No loadshedding is anticipated during the weekend.

“Eskom wishes to remind the public to continue using electricity sparingly as the system remains vulnerable and unpredictable.

“We thank the people of South Africa for their assistance during the difficulties of loadshedding,” said the Eskom media desk.
