Not only did The North Coast Courier bring home the Best Freestanding Publication award for the production of the O'Neill Ballito Pro 2019 magazine, it did so for the second year running.
The North Coast Courier newspaper and sister publication, the Get It Ballito and Umhlanga magazine have reason to brag this week, this after the recently-held virtual Caxton Media Awards 2019.
Not only did The North Coast Courier bring home the Best Freestanding Publication award for the production of the O’Neill Ballito Pro 2019 magazine, it did so for the second year running.
Thanks for the award-winning design and production go out to the Courier’s Senior Graphic Designer, Nicole von Metzinger.
“We are proud to yet again bring this award home and to have our combined team effort recognised,” Nicole said.

Judges at this year’s Caxton Awards, a competition to celebrate excellence across the media company’s numerous publications, described the magazine as ‘brilliant and professional, and a collector’s piece with lovely photographs and all-round simply beautiful. A well-deserved win!’
Get It Ballito and Umhlanga Editor Leah Shone was adjudged Best Journalist and judges commended her on her lovely, easy style which makes for easy reading.
‘Her stories are relevant and she brings personalities and places to life. Her travel stories are hugely enjoyed.’
Leah said she was honoured to have received this award.
“I am lucky enough to work with an incredible team and we are all very proud of the magazine we produce every month.
“Huge congratulations to all the other winners this year,” Leah said.
