New times announced for Salt Rock and KwaDukuza licensing departments

For weeks now, locals have been reporting that local licensing departments, specifically Salt Rock, have been closed outside of the stipulated operating hours.

Following countless complaints from motorists, KwaDukuza municipality this week updated operating hours of local licensing departments.

For weeks now, locals have been reporting that local licensing departments, specifically Salt Rock, have been closed outside of the stipulated operating hours.

Both KwaDukuza and the Salt Rock licensing departments shut their doors an hour prior to the stipulated times in order to reconcile the day’s work. Updated times are:

Salt Rock licensing department:

Weekdays from 8.15am to 2.30pm, doors close at 1.30pm.

Every first and last Saturday of the month, 8am to 1pm, doors close at midday.

KwaDukuza licensing department:

Weekdays from 8.15am to 2.30pm, doors close at 1.30pm.

Every first and last Saturday of the month, 8am to 1pm, doors close at midday.

Local licensing departments are also in the process of switching to a ticket system, which will mean the Salt Rock licensing department will be able to deal with about 75 renewals per day.
