Alcohol isn’t the draw card of Ballito Lifestyle Centre, instead it is the atmosphere.

This was the message from Lifestyle centre owner, Bruce Rencken after the president’s announcement of a return to lockdown level 3, which saw the centre implement some changes.

The iLembe District has since also been declared a hot spot, necessitating the need for additional measures. have been reduced and, where possible, split shift systems have been put in place, with the safety of visitors in mind.

New operating hours:

• Centre trading hours, Mondays through to Saturdays from 9am to 6pm, Sunday 8am to 5pm.
• The Market retail, Mondays through to Saturdays from 8am to 6pm, Sunday 8am to 5pm.
• The Market’s eateries close at 8pm daily.
• Eat Street restaurants operate daily, 11am to 8pm.
• Superspar, daily from 7am to 8pm.
• Woolworths Foodmarket, daily from 7am to 7pm.
• Dischem, Mondays through to Saturdays from 8am to 6pm, Sunday from 8am to 5pm.
• Mica, Mondays through to Saturdays from 7am to 6pm, Sunday from 9am to 5pm.

“Restaurants will continue to operate daily, without serving alcohol, but we aim to still provide a great experience to our patrons.

“Live music at The Market and at Eat Street, will continue with musicians wearing masks,” said Rencken.

The legal requirement of face masks has seen changes to the entertainment line-up, effectively now only involving instrumental entertainment.

An additional requirement of the adjusted level 3 regulations is for every business premises to determine the maximum number of staff and customers permitted at any one time based on social distancing guidelines and not exceed that limit.

“This maximum number has been calculated for each store within Lifestyle Centre and numbers will be monitored and managed accordingly by the individual stores.”
