Some 20 000MW of capacity out of play as Eskom brings back stage 2 loadshedding
Loadshedding is set to start at midday today - January 14 - and continue until 11pm on Sunday, January 17.
Coal conveyor belts have failed at Kusile Power Station, tripping two generation units which have forced Eskom to hand out a dose of stage 2 loadshedding.

Units at the Kriel and Duvha power stations have further tripped owing to the breaking down.
“We currently have four generation units which return to service from planned maintenance has been delayed.”
A total of 20 106MW of capacity is unavailable.
Eskom has assured the public that it is working tirelessly to return units to service.

Thursday:
Stanger Northern Grid: 2pm to 4.30pm, and again at 10pm to 00.30am.
Ballito Southern Grid: 10pm to 00.30am.
Tongaat CBD: No loadshedding.
Tongaat Beach: No loadshedding.
Mandini: No loadshedding.
Mandini A: No loadshedding.
Mandini B: Midday until 2.30pm.
