Gratitude campaign bring smiles to North Coast hospitals

A random act of kindness might be what our essential staff in the medical industry need most. 

“We all know our hospital and paramedic staff are exhausted,” said Salt Rock resident Katrin Kitlas.

It is with this in mind that gratitude took the form of a box of snacks and pick-me-ups.

Soon one box became dozens of boxes with compassionate North Coast locals jumping at the chance to join the Frontline Gratitude Box initiative. 

So far 2 loads of donations have been delivered to a number of hospitals, clinics and paramedics. 

Donations can be dropped off at 10 Wilkes Road, Salt Rock where items are sanitized and packaged prior to distribution.

Further collection points are Ballito Village Spar and La Montagne.

If you would like to donate, Katrin suggested keeping things simple: a chocolate or energy bar, or a small packet of sweets or an energy drink under R20.
