Can’t think of what gift to get? This Melville woman has made gift giving her business
She has been getting bookings for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and baby showers and delivers around KwaDukuza.
A young woman from Melville township has left people with fewer excuses for not buying gifts for their loved ones, since choosing and delivering gifts is her full-time job.
The 25-year-old Buhle Sokhulu said she realised that to many people choosing gifts did not come naturally.
“I just love receiving gifts but I am more excited by giving. I realised that gift giving is much deeper than we think,” said Sokhulu.
After her first advertisement, a week before Valentine’s Day, she has been delivering gifts daily.
“You either tell me what you want to get for your loved one, or you simply explain the personality of the person you are getting a gift for. I chose a gift based on the description.”
Challenging as it may sound, Sokhulu believes her outgoing personality and love of gift giving makes it easy.
She has been getting bookings for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and baby showers and delivers around KwaDukuza.
The 2013 Stanger Secondary matriculant holds a certificate in Tourism Management from Elangeni College in 2017.
“Unfortunately I was unable to get a job and I have been working with my friend at her bakery in the township. I believe that when there are no opportunities at your disposal, create one and keep pushing.”
