Stage 2 loadshedding set to strike at 5pm
Currently Eskom has a total of 6 212MW out on planned maintenance while a further 11 217MW of capacity is unavailable owing to breakdowns and further delays.
Stage 2 loadshedding is set to be implemented today from 5pm nationally, Eskom shared this morning.
The state-owned utility provider said that loadshedding will continue until Friday at 11pm, and has indicated the need for loadshedding came about owing to severely constrained generating capacity.
Loadshedding may also be implemented at short notice should any further breakdowns occur.
Continued poor performance at the Kusile, Duvha and Tutuka power stations, as well as delays in the returning of other units to service and breakdowns over the past week, have caused the need to implement loadshedding.

Ballito Southern Grid: Not affected
Tongaat Beach: 10pm to midnight
Mandeni: Not affected
Tongaat CBD: 10pm to midnight
Stanger Northern Grid: 5pm to 6.30pm
