Eskom extends loadshedding to Wednesday

Battling a number of generating capacity issues and break downs at several power stations, Eskom said loadshedding will continue until Wednesday. 

Loadshedding will now end, according to the state owned utility provider, at 5am on Wednesday morning. 

“Over the past 2 days, Eskom has successfully returned a generating unit each at the Matimba and Medupi power stations.

“However, during the weekend we have experienced further break downs at 50 power stations, putting further strain on generating capacity, ” Eskom said.

Eskom has appealed to it’s customers to use electricity sparingly. 

This is how loadshedding will affect you:

Sunday:

Ballito Southern Grid (Tinley Manor to Ballito & Zimbali): 10pm to 11pm

Stanger Northern Grid (Tinley Manor to Zinkwazi): 10pm to 11pm

Mandini: Midnight into Sunday until 2.30am

Tongaat CBD: 4pm to 6pm

Tongaat Beach: 4pm to 6pm

Monday:

Ballito Southern Grid (Tinley Manor to Ballito & Zimbali): 6am to 8.30am

Stanger Northern Grid (Tinley Manor to Zinkwazi): 10pm to 00.30am

Mandini: Midnight to 2.30am and again from 8am to 10.30am

Tongaat CBD: 4am to 6am and again from midday to 2pm

Tongaat Beach: 4am to 6am and again from midday to 2pm

Tuesday:

Ballito Southern Grid (Tinley Manor to Ballito & Zimbali): 6am to 8.30am and again from 2pm to 4.30pm

Stanger Northern Grid (Tinley Manor to Zinkwazi): 6am to 8.30am

Mandini: 8am to 10.30am and again from 4pm to 6.30pm

Tongaat CBD: 6pm to 8pm

Tongaat Beach: 6pm to 8pm

Wednesday:
