Driver killed in rollover on the M4, Zimbali
The vehicle crashed through the safety barrier and was caught by the branches of a tree on a steep embankment.
A man lost control of his vehicle this morning, rolling off the M4 and died from his injuries.
Reports indicate that the driver crashed through the safety barrier, leaving the road and slamming into a tree down an embankment at the circle before the Tongaat River bridge.
“The vehicle that was only being kept in place by a few small branches was stabilised using a cable by Big Show Towing, allowing crews to assess the scene,” said Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst.

During the roll, the man was thrown from the vehicle and was found unresponsive by Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services in nearby bushes.
He was the only occupant of the vehicle.
