KwaDukuza residents to prepare for 12 hours without water during repairs

The shutdown will mainly affect KwaDukuza and surrounding areas.

An emergency shutdown of the lower Thukela bulk supply water line will see many parts of KwaDuzuza possibly experience water shortages from 6pm this evening.

iLembe District Municipality’s Khululiwe Makhaye this afternoon indicated that the reason for the shutdown is to do repairs to a severe leak on the scour valve.

The shutdown is expected to last 12 hours as Umgeni Water does repairs.

The following areas have been warned against potential water interruptions:

  • Emdlebeni
  • Ohlange
  • San Souci
  • Zinkwazi
  • Darnall
  • Zamani
  • Nonoti Mouth
  • Gledhow

  • Stanger Manor
  • Stanger Heights
  • High Ridge
  • Warrenton
  • Doesburg
  • Mbozamo
  • Indian Village
