Young Prince’s Grant golf stars tee off for Ukukusiza charity
An auction will take place at the prize-giving, with prizes which include a photograph of the magnificent 15th hole valued at over R3 000, and a 2-night stay at the lodge (a round of golf is included as well as breakfast) valued at R5 000.
An exhibition round competition at Prince’s Grant will see 4 United States of America-bound young golfers support local charity, Ukukusiza on June 13.
With the aim of furthering their golfing and academic careers, Prince’s Grant residents Robert Starkey, Kaleigh Telfer, Kyle Kistensamy and Marlie Smit are headed for the USA this September, but first they’ll face each other in what promises to be a fun day of golf, filled with boerewors rolls and a number of drinks at the golf course.
Warm up has been set for 10.30am, with tee off set for 11.30am.
Prince’s Grant Coastal and Residential Estate spokesperson, Caryn-Leigh Govender urged locals to support the golfers across all 18 holes.
“Hole sponsorship or cash donation will be handed over to local community leader, Aresh Singh who heads the chosen charity,” she said.
A booze barrow valued at over R2 000 is also up for grabs – tickets can be bought for R50 (or 3 for R100) at the pro shop.
