Carjackers shoot and injure victim in Tongaat on Monday
The man was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
A 38-year-old Tongaat resident was shot and injured when robbers allegedly tried to steal his car on Monday.
According to provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, the man was at his house at Burbreeze when he heard an alarm going off from his vehicle and he went to check.
“He was accosted by 2 armed men who opened fire, wounding him on the chest and right arm.
“The men thereafter fled the scene.
“A case of attempted murder was opened at Tongaat police station for investigation,” said Mbele.
The man was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
