Weather bureau warns of heavy rainfall and possible floods

The South African Weather Service said a cold front is expected to pass through the province this evening, with a surface high-pressure system behind the front tomorrow.

An orange alert level 5 warning has been issued by the weather bureau, predicting disruptive rain for the coast and interior of the KwaZulu-Natal.

The South African Weather Service said a cold front is expected to pass through the province this evening, with a surface high-pressure system behind the front tomorrow (Saturday).

Following this high-pressure system is a cut-off low-pressure system moving eastward. This would result in cold to very cold conditions with widespread showers and thundershowers across the province.

It warned weather models indicate significant amounts of rainfall lasting the entire day along the coastline, which could cause flooding.
