SA Weather issues level 10 red warning for KZN coast

The warning issued by the weather bureau is its highest possible warning level.

The South African weather bureau has issued its highest possible weather warning – level 10 – and said that more than 200mm of rain is expected in some part of the KwaZulu-Natal coastline.

Widespread showers have reportedly already caused a mudslide at Umdloti’s North Beach Road, with motorists advised to avoid travelling.

Thundershowers are expected across the province.

The weather bureau warned that after recent events, severe impacts can be expected over coastal areas and the north-eastern part of the province both today, and tomorrow.

Flooding, fast flowing streams, mudslides and more threats have been warned of by the weather bureau.
