South Africa’s third Checkers Foods store opens at upgraded Boulevard Shopping Centre in Ballito
With a floor space of 1 305m², Checkers Foods Ballito boasts an expanded fresh food range, while also being conveniently located outside of the congested main traffic routes.
KwaZulu-Natal’s first, and the country’s third Checkers Foods store has opened its doors in Ballito at the newly-refurbished Boulevard Shopping Centre.
Catching up with sisters Mary Poipao and Margaret Dos Santos shopping at the store on Tuesday, they said they loved the experience of the smaller format supermarket and that it enhanced the Boulevard’s appearance.
They said the added benefit of the supermarket’s focus on food was a plus, while it still offers what a normal Checkers store does.
The Checkers group recently introduced similar stores in Gauteng and the Western Cape.
The store is managed by Jessie Ramnanan and employs 19 staff. Its operating hours are 8am to 8pm Mondays to Sundays.
