No plea yet in case of Ballito woman accused of drowning daughter

She will remain at Westville Prison until her next court appearance on September 8.

The case of the Ballito mother charged with murdering her four-year-old daughter by drowning her in a bucket of water, has been postponed to September 8.

She was expected to enter a plea when she appeared in the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court yesterday, but prosecutor Paul Nel told the court more time for investigation was needed.

The 45-year-old woman will be kept at the Westville Prison’s hospital section where she is receiving psychological treatment.
