Hambanathi rapper Mbedle Makasana’s star is rising
He says as an upcoming artist, high self-esteem is a must and one must always be willing to collaborate with other artists to gain experience.

A 27-year-old rapper from Hambanathi wants to share his township stories through music.
Mbedle Makasana recently released a new song titled Where I Am Coming From.
Motivated by the stories that happen around him and his life, it has always been his dream to share his experiences, with his musical talent as the medium.
Known as the “voice of the ghetto”, Mbedle believes he is a healer through his music and he is one of the upcoming musos to look out for this year.
He works under the watchful eye of Timeless Productions.
“I began pursuing music as a member of our church choir, in which I was a keyboard player and vocalist. In high school I then met up with friends who do hip-hop and that’s how I adopted the hip-hop culture. We began recording songs and attending events around Durban,” said the Nkosibomvu High matriculant.
Although he is still to release an album, he has released three full bodies of work and many single tracks.
“I have many unreleased songs and I’m working on my album every day. When the time is right it will be released,” said Mbedle.
