#BookReview: Field Guide to Insects of South Africa is a great guide to creepy crawlies
The book describes more than 1 500 insects with excellent full colour photos for easy identification and is a must-have for any nature enthusiast.
Having spent the last six months with the Field Guide to Insects of South Africa, I can wholeheartedly recommend it to any budding entomologists or anyone wanting to know more about the miniature world of the most abundant group of organisms on earth.
A sighting of some often-spotted or never-before-seen (or paid attention to) creepy crawly around the house and garden have had my boys (both under 10) and I grabbing for the guide with great excitement.
There is something deeply satisfying about finding the right species and gaining new insight into its role in the ecosystem.
