Celia Davis School of Ballet presents Tales of Beatrix Potter
With costumes in keeping with the feel of the original illustrations of Beatrix Potter, prepare to be drawn into a beautiful and enchanting world.
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Celia Davis School of Ballet will present ‘Tales of Beatrix Potter’ on Friday, September 23 at Ashton College Ballito.
Based on the 2007 Royal Ballet production in which Frederick Ashton delighted audiences with his characterful choreography, supported by John Lanchberry’s beautiful musical arrangement, this production promises top-class entertainment, whether you are of age 3… or 83!
The production will include all the Celia Davis School of Ballet students, from age four through to the senior dancers currently working at Advanced 1 and 2 levels, and adheres closely to the original choreography, with additional choreography introduced by Celia to cater for the various levels of dancers.
The hour-long performance will include seven of the nine tales from the original Royal Ballet production, including the Tales of Peter Rabbit, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Jeremy Fisher, Pigling Bland and Jemima Puddle-Duck.
