Gauteng holidaymaker saved from drowning at Salt Rock beach
A search and rescue team managed to pull the 52-year-old man to safety.
Rescuers on Sunday morning saved the life of a holidaymaker who nearly drowned while swimming at Salt Rock beach.
Emergency responders said the 52-year-old Gauteng man began experiencing difficulty in the water, but an IPSS Medical Rescue response team happened to be at the beach and spotted the bather in distress.
They went to his rescue and managed to return him to the beach.
“He was stabilised and taken to a nearby medical facility for further treatment,” IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Dylan Meyrick, said.
