SPCA seeks home for Lucy after traumatic drain rescue
SPCA inspector Moloi rescued Lucy after the dog had been dumped down a drain three months ago.
It took three months of recovery and care to nurse Lucy the dog back to health after she was found dumped down a drain and left for dead.
Lucy was discovered abandoned, and not too far from her, another dog was found hung to death. The Durban and Coast SPCA suspects that the cases may be linked however, there are no witnesses to the cases of animal cruelty.
The Durban and Coast SPCA is appealing to the community at large to help Lucy find a forever home.
“We can’t bring the perpetrators to book, but we can help Lucy find a home,” said the SPCA’s Tanya Fleischer.
Little more than a pup, Lucy was rescued by SPCA inspector Moloi little over three months ago.
“She was very nervous and painfully thin. We’ve soothed her and cared for her, giving her a special diet to help her grow into a healthy young dog. She’s regained her health and confidence, but we haven’t been able to find her a special home yet, with loving, caring people who will never hurt her again,” Fleischer said.
